Foxes Share Spoils with Royals

Reading 1 - 1 Leicester City

The Foxes secured a hard earned point at the Majeski Stadium this evening to move seven points clear at the top of the league with just 4 games remaining. In the 16th minute, Pearce headed home from an improbable distance and angle to give the hosts the lead. Pearce had outmuscled Morgan and looped a clever header back across Schmeichel and into the far corner of the goal. Just after the half hour mark, City equalised. Reading failed to clear well enough and Hammond knocked the ball into Drinkwater's path. Drinkwater slapped a decisive shot past a statuesque Reading goalkeeper.

It was a much more convincing performance from the Foxes after the Brighton aberration in the week. City were sharp, alert and dominated the second half - as they have so often this season. The passing was crisp and concise and as the game wore on, it seemed as though there would only be one winner. It wasn't to be but the Foxes are potentially one game away from securing the league title. That could well happen in front of the Sky cameras on Saturday.
